Sensational Kids is a registered charity that provides a therapeutic and educational centre with a family centred approach. We take pride in providing the highest quality occupational therapy services to children of all abilities and their families.
Sensational Kids provides therapy services for many children each week with Autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, Dyspraxia, Global Developmental Delays, Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Disorders, ADD, ADHD and many other developmental conditions and delays.
Our unique state-of-the-art sensory gym and classrooms together with the innovative equipment are designed to mirror playful activities to the child, whilst the therapist draws upon extensive training to provide challenging therapeutic activities aimed at developing greater capabilities and skill levels.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy is skilled treatment that helps a child achieve independence and ability to participate in all facets of his or her life-play, self-care, school and community participation, socialising with family and friends. Occupational Therapy gives children and their families "skills for the job of living" necessary for independent, fulfilling and satisfying lives.
Occupational Therapy helps your child developtheir functional performance skills.
These include:
- Gross motor skills (including balance, postural control and coordination)
- Fine motor skills (including bilateral hand use, manipulation and dexterity)
- Self care skills such as dressing and feeding
- Social skills
- Functional classroom skills such as handwriting
Many people are surprised to hear that children participate in occupational therapy, because we usually associate the term "occupation" with jobs adults perform. However, there is a broader view of "occupations" that include children's activities such as playing, learning and socialising with friends. At Sensational Kids, we help children develop these necessary skills so their transition into adulthood becomes a path to an independent and rewarding life.
Occupational Therapy can help children who have difficulty with:

- General Developmental Delays
- Functional Skills in the Classroom
What Types of Children Benefit From Occupational Therapy?
A wide variety of infants and children can benefit from occupational therapy, including those with: 
- Prematurity, birth injuries
- Attention deficits, learning problems, or developmental disabilities
- Sensory processing/sensory integration disorders
- Problems with organizing and coordinating skilled movement ("clumsiness")
- Neuromuscular conditions such as cerebral palsy
- Chronic musculo-skeletal conditions such as muscular dystrophy, arthrogryposis, or osteogenesis imperfecta
- Behavioural problems, substance use or eating disorders
- Sports injuries or accidents
Who can avail of Services at Sensational Kids?
Our Occupational Therapy Services are open to children of all abilities who may be experiencing difficulties or delays. We operate an Open Referal System which means that anybody can refer a child to Sensational Kids, including parents. This service is available to children of all ages.

How much will it cost?
As a charity and not- for-profit organisation we strive to provide the highest quality family focused intervention for children who have delays and difficulties at a price that is affordable.
Sensational Kids Occupational Therapy Services are subsidised by fundraising and donations to offer families affordable therapy in a state of the art environment with therapists who are dedicated to helping children to reach their full potential in a fun and enjoyable way. Sensational Kids Occupational Therapy Services cost less than equivalent services as they are subsidised by funds raised by Sensational Kids.
Our individual sessions consist of 45 - 50 minutes therapy followed by 5-10 minutes feedback with the parent/caregiver.
Individual one-to-one Occupational Therapy Sessions cost just €65.
Occupational Therapy Assessments including a full written report are available for €330
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel an appointment 48 hours notice is required to be given so that this appointment can be re-allocated.
