Derek McGrath, CEO, The Curragh Racecourse

A veterinary surgeon by qualification, Derek comes to the position with a strong history of achievement in the sports and leisure sector, most notably as Chief Executive of European Rugby Cup Ltd from 2000 to 2014. In this position Derek had full responsibility for the European Club Rugby competitions, the Heineken Cup and the Amlin Challenge Cup. Derek has also represented Ireland at senior international level in rugby.

Beauty is a notoriously difficult industry to crack, but with solid backgrounds in family business, the Newbridge duo behind Pestle & Mortar seem to have discovered the trick. Established in 2014 the business has gone from strength to strength and is hugely successful.

 

Peter Carey, Chief Executive, Kildare County Council

One of the main objectives of Kildare County Council is to attract, retain and grow businesses to help build a strong and sustainable local economy.
