Paula Egan 

Voluntary Chairperson of Sensational Kids Board of Directors 

Appointed to chair the board of Sensational Kids in February 2016 , Paula Egan, (MInstD, MBA, (Hons) BABS, is the founder and principal of Finance Services and TaxBuddy.ie is a strategic and award winning, innovative entrepreneur with more than 20 years’ experience at senior director level. During her career to date she has successfully created, advised, managed, built and sold her own business and those of many clients.  

While managing her first major business, the recruitment agency Celtic Careers, Paula was honoured to be awarded with the National Network Ireland Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007.  In 2015 she became the first woman to achieve this prestigious Award for the second time, for her work with her leading-edge, lean-focused company, Finance Services.

Paula is a graduate of University of Ulster (Honours Degree in Business - specialising in finance), and of Dublin City University (MBA). Constantly up-skilling, Paula is currently participating on the Institute of Directors Chartered Director Programme

Maria McGough

Voluntary Company Secretary

Maria McGough became involved with Sensational Kids in April 2016 when she undertook the role of Company Secretary in a voluntary capacity.  Maria is a qualified Chartered Secretary and her other qualifications include an MBA and a Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship (Hons) from Smurfit Business School UCD.  

Maria has 20+ years experience at senior management level in the Investment Funds industry with a focus on Corporate Governance and Financial Management.  

Maria's contribution to Sensational Kids will greatly enhance our Governance infrastructure and future strategic direction.  

 

Katie Cremin

Voluntary Board Member

Katie Cremin, is an award winning Assistant Professor in Occupational Therapy at Trinity College Dublin and PHD student at The Children’s Research Centre and School of Psychology, Trinity College Dublin, researching the social and emotional factors in the transition to secondary school for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Katie lends her extensive clinical expertise to the board and to the future development of Sensational Kids.

Maurice Kelly

Voluntary Board Member

Maurice is an experienced Human Resources leader with more than 15 years’ experience in multinational companies. He holds a Master Degree in Business and Human Resources from University of Limerick and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD).  Maurice is a qualified Executive Coach accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).

Maurice is currently working with Kerry Group in an International HR Leadership role, having previously held similar roles with global companies across many sectors namely; Integra Lifesciences (Medical Devices), Eaton Automotive (Automotive), Magna Donnelly (Automotive) and Essilor International (Healthcare). 

Maurice is an experienced board member having served as Director for Integra’s Irish based operations in addition to having oversight of their European Shared Services based in Dublin.

As a father of three young children, Maurice is passionate about supporting Children’s charities.  As a volunteer Board Member with Sensational Kids, he will bring support and guidance in all things HR related.

 

Fiona Mc Loughlin Healy

Voluntary Board Member

Fiona first trained as a nurse in University College Hospital Galway and from here she volunteered in an orphanage in Romania, an experience she says fanned the flames of her interest in issues of equality and justice and its impact on children and their ability to succeed. She returned to NUIG to complete a degree in Law and Politics graduating top of her class with a double first class honours degree, followed by an MSc in PR, communication and advertising, Ulster University.

As Marketing Manager for Cerebral Palsy Ireland, one of Ireland’s largest voluntary organisations she successfully completed a nationwide re-branding of the charity to its current brand- Enable Ireland. Fiona’s experience in the voluntary sector re-enforced her beliefs around equality and its impact on both health and education.

Noel O'Driscoll


Voluntary Board Member


Noel O’Driscoll is a newspaper journalist who joined the board of Sensational Kids in April 2016 having worked with the charity, advising the organisation on public relations and communications, in a voluntary capacity over the previous year and a half.

In addition to being a journalist who has worked for local newspapers over the past decade and a half, Noel is also a graduate of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland.

Noel’s contribution to Sensational Kids will be to plan and implement the communications strategy of the charity as it grows over the coming years.

 

Steven Phillips

Voluntary Board Member


Steven Phillips (BArch Hons. ANZIA MRIAI RIBA) is a Registered Architect with a wide range of international experience which includes education facilities from pre-school to third level, special needs facilities and specialised cultural buildings, working for the last 15 years in Ireland on projects in both public and private sectors. Steven established Number 8 Studio in 2009 to carry out design projects in Ireland and the UK, including private houses in Belfast and Dublin, and specialist design consultancy work for Irish companies and multinationals.

Steven’s work is characterized by creativity and a focus on how people relate to each other and engage with their surroundings. Steven's skills will be invaluable on the board of directors over the coming years as we implement our plans to grow and scale our impact.
