Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Chartered Clinical / Educational Psychologists to join our teams at Sensational Kids Child Development Centres in Kildare, Cork, Mayo or Monaghan. The Chartered Clinical/Educational Psychologist will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychological assessments, interventions, and therapeutic support to children and adolescents with a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, social, and behavioural functioning of children and adolescents.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilising evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and educational psychologists, to ensure integrated and holistic care for clients.
- Offer consultation and support to parents, caregivers, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate understanding of developmental and psychological issues and to promote effective strategies for support.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant records in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities to enhance clinical practice and contribute to the ongoing development of services at Sensational Kids.
- Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in clinical psychology and child development to inform and enhance clinical practice.
Qualifications and Experience:
- The suitable candidate will require a doctorate in educational psychology or a doctorate in clinical psychology or a doctorate in counselling psychology and must be registered with the PSI as a psychologist.
- ADOS training and experience of providing autism diagnostic assessments desirable
- Registration as a Chartered Clinical / Educational Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant professional body.
- Minimum of [2] years of post-qualification experience in clinical practice, preferably working with children and adolescents.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting psychological assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations for a range of developmental, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to professional development and continuing education in the field of clinical/educational psychology and child development.
